Statement issued by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy BJP National Spokesperson and M.P on Shri P. Chidambaram's resignation offer

The BJP would no way demand or agree to the resignation of Home Minister nor would heed the Home Minister to resign as it would undoubtedly be hailed as a Maoist victory. Home Minister of India is entrusted with the Nation's security and can't whimper like an injured retreating soldier on a back foot.

We understand his candid admission but unfortunately the Home Minister has become victim of his own Idiom where he himself has admitted "The buck stops at my desk". The BJP is not interested in knowing where the buck stops – whether in the Home Minister's office or on Buddha's table in the Writers building in Calcutta. The BJP and country knows that at this critical juncture we no way can afford to lose the war against the Maoists.

The BJP expects Home Minister's stand, statement and leadership at this crucial juncture to be inspirational rather being confessional. The BJP would stand by the Government and would expect a fast track committed long lasting solution to the Maoist menace with a fight to finish response.
